Law Enforcement Outlines Subsequent Actions Following the Release of Four Kidnapping Victims

National Police Service (NPS) Spokesperson Resila Onyango has confirmed that four individuals, including Billy Mwangi and Peter Muteti, who went missing in December of last year, have been found alive.

Onyango, speaking to the press on Monday, announced that the police would reach out to the families of the four missing individuals to offer support and continue investigations.

The spokesperson revealed that Bernard Kavuli, who was reported missing at Ngong’ Police Station, showed up at Moi’s Bridge Police Station today and is now assisting officers with their inquiries.

Similarly, Billy Mwangi, Peter Muteti, and Rony Kiplagat, whose abductions had been reported to the Embu, Kabete, and Thogoto Police Stations respectively, have been reunited with their families.

While addressing the media, Onyango mentioned that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has begun investigating the cases of missing persons, with some still pending in court.

She also urged the public to cooperate with security agencies and provide any information that could assist in the investigations or locating missing individuals.

“All information is valuable and can be reported to the nearest police station or through our toll-free lines 999, 911, 112, or FichuakwaDCI 0800722203,” she said.

“The National Police Service is committed to ensuring that these matters are fully investigated and brought to a conclusion,” she added.

Onyango’s statement came hours after reports surfaced that Billy Mwangi, Peter Muteti, Ronny Kiplagat, and Bernard Kavuli had been found alive in different locations.

Muteti was discovered in distress by good Samaritans in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) and was later reunited with his family.

Similarly, Mwangi was reunited with his parents this morning, with his mother confirming that the 24-year-old arrived at his father’s home in Majengo today.

The four individuals had disappeared on December 21, allegedly abducted by unknown persons, though the police had previously denied involvement in their abductions.
