Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Monday inspected progress at the Kenya Leather Industrial Park (KLIP) in Kenanie, Machakos County. During his visit, he reviewed pending tasks to ensure alignment with the presidential directive to complete the project by March 31, 2025.
“While four warehouses—two designated for processing hides and skins into leather and two for manufacturing finished leather products—are complete, efforts to finalize electricity and water reticulation, as well as the establishment of permanent policing services, are being accelerated to meet the deadline,” Kindiki stated.
He was joined by Acting Agriculture and Livestock CS Aden Duale, Principal Secretary for Livestock Development Jonathan Mueke, and other senior government officials.
