Kennedy Rapudo, Amber Ray’s partner, has refuted allegations of involvement in money laundering (Wash-Wash). He urged people to stop speculating, emphasizing that he has never been involved in illegal activities and never will be. “Gold scams and Wash-Wash are not part of my life, and they never will be. Those who truly know me understand my principles and values. If I were involved in such activities, there would be evidence by now, not just rumors. Just because I choose to keep my sources of income private doesn’t mean I’m engaged in gold scams.”
Rapudo questioned why people didn’t scrutinize his financial struggles in the past. “It’s funny how people love to speculate about others instead of focusing on their own lives. While they gossip, I’ll continue moving forward, building my life step by step, honestly. When I was poor, no one questioned my source of poverty. Is it jealousy, hunger, or bitterness? We should focus on holding our leaders accountable for bad governance, not worrying about private citizens’ wealth. Let’s all have a great new year.”
After finishing Form Four, Rapudo began his career as a hawker in Nairobi, selling items like flasks to support himself. He also ventured into brickmaking and poultry farming, constantly hustling to make ends meet.

Determined to improve his prospects, he pursued higher education, earning a Master’s degree from the University of Nairobi. During his studies, he worked with several oil companies, such as TULO and Africa Oil, which helped him build his research skills and professional network.
Rapudo later earned a second Master’s degree from USIU, drawn by their exceptional programs. “My work with TULO and Africa Oil provided valuable experience, and I chose to pursue my second Master’s at USIU because of their excellent programs,” he said.
In 2015, Rapudo transitioned into entrepreneurship, starting with a ride-hailing business and managing multiple Uber vehicles. His entrepreneurial journey took a significant turn when he joined a Dutch travel company, organizing tours for clients from the Netherlands. “After leaving my job in 2015, I started my own travel business, focusing on tours for Dutch clients,” he shared.
