National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah has accused former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of being behind the rise in abductions across the country.
During the burial of Moses Wetangula’s mother on Friday, January 3, Ichung’wah alleged that Gachagua was orchestrating the abductions. This statement came just a week after Gachagua criticized President William Ruto over the abductions.
Ichung’wah also took aim at Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya, who was present at the burial, blaming him for not using his authority as Police Regional Commander to expose those responsible for the abductions.
“Gachagua was the orchestrator of the abductions to blame President Ruto. Shame on you, Governor Natembeya. You cannot complain about abductions when you were a key abductor of Kenyans in the previous regime,” Ichung’wah remarked.

These comments were made during a heated exchange directed at Natembeya, who, in his address to the mourners, had called for an end to the abductions. His remarks triggered a sharp attack on the former police officer.
Natembeya received a cold reception at the burial, with a clear indication of a supremacy rivalry between him and Wetangula, as mourners reacted unfavorably toward him.
