A Nairobi court has acquitted Private Detective Jane Mugo of charges alleging she threatened to shoot a businessman.
Senior Principal Magistrate Susan Shitubi ruled that the prosecution failed to present sufficient evidence to support its case against the controversial investigator. The court highlighted inconsistencies in the testimony of the prosecution’s two witnesses, which undermined their credibility.
Magistrate Shitubi also noted that the alleged firearm was not recovered during a police raid on Mugo’s residence. Additionally, the failure to cross-examine the witnesses left the court with conflicting accounts, ultimately favoring the defense’s narrative.
