Two police officers arrested for allegedly slaughtering a cow that was reported missing.

In an ironic turn of events in Keiyo South, Elgeyo Marakwet County, two police officers were arrested for their involvement in the slaughter of a cow that had been reported missing at the Kaptagat Police Station. According to the police report, officers Chrispus Butali and Samwel Mbugua Njuguna were apprehended after being found at the scene where the cow had been slaughtered.

The incident began when Josphine Kandie reported her cows as missing, only to later receive information that one of her cows had been found slaughtered at the Kaptagat Police Station. Enraged members of the public gathered at the station, demanding the removal of the officers, including the OCS. Despite efforts by the police to restore order, residents barricaded the Eldama Ravine-Eldoret road in protest.

As of the time of publication, clashes between the police and locals were ongoing.
