TSC Announces 19,943 Teacher Promotion Vacancies.

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced nearly 20,000 new promotion vacancies for teachers, effective for the academic year starting in January 2025.

In November, the TSC had earlier advertised promotion vacancies to fill vacant administrative positions. However, the Commission has now stated that teachers who applied during the advertisement period from November 12 to 18 should reapply.

This update suggests that some of the previously advertised vacancies may have been canceled, and the process will now begin again.

The latest advertisement seeks to fill 19,943 vacancies for administrative positions in primary, secondary, and some tertiary institutions. The majority of these vacancies are for Senior Teacher I positions in regular primary schools, where 4,703 positions are available at Job Group C3.

Additionally, the TSC is looking to fill 3,653 vacancies for Deputy Head Teacher II positions in regular primary schools, which fall under Job Grade C4. There are also 2,221 vacancies for Senior Master IV at Job Group C4.

Other notable positions include two Senior Master II roles in Special Needs Secondary Schools, 2,130 headteacher positions for regular schools (Job Group C5), and 1,987 vacancies for Senior Master III at Job Group C5. Additionally, there are 1,408 vacancies for Deputy Principal III at Job Group D1.

The TSC is also advertising 1,364 Senior Teacher I vacancies for regular primary schools, with 81 additional positions for Special Needs Primary Schools. In secondary schools, there are 786 vacancies for Deputy Principal II at Job Group D2 and 652 principal vacancies at Job Group D3.

Other advertised positions include 254 Senior Head Teacher roles at Job Group D1, 126 Senior Principal roles at Job Group D4, and 184 Secondary Teacher I vacancies, which are open to diploma holders. The TSC is also seeking to fill 44 Chief Principal positions in regular schools (Job Group D5) and 3 Chief Principal roles in teacher training colleges.

In teacher training colleges (TTCs), there are 3 Deputy Principal positions, 13 Senior Lecturer I roles, 32 Senior Lecturer II vacancies, 61 Senior Lecturer III positions, 7 Lecturer I roles, and 70 Senior Lecturer IV vacancies. Furthermore, 7 Senior Headteacher positions and 33 headteacher roles are available in Special Needs Education schools.

Lastly, there are 77 Senior Teacher I and 81 Senior Teacher II positions open in Special Needs Primary institutions.
