Samidoh is heartbroken after the end of his marriage to Edday Nderitu, which he attributes to his relationship with Karen Nyamu. That affair, too, ended in disappointment, much like many short-lived relationships in Nairobi.
Instead of dwelling in his sadness, the Kikuyu benga artist channeled his emotions into a song that captures his feelings of being deceived by the nominated Kenya Kwisha Senator.
The couple shares two children, and their relationship was filled with rumors of infidelity and domestic disputes. They were often in the public eye, mostly due to their inability to maintain privacy.

Samidoh’s song, “Wendo Wa Ihera” (Toxic Love), released in December 2024, features lyrics suggesting that he knew all along he was being misled by the controversial Senator.
Despite their flaws, the two had their moments, and Samidoh gave up his family for the Senator, known more for her public persona than her political work. Now, he’s left to reflect on the pain, but at least the experience has inspired a compelling Kikuyu country song.
