Surprise as King Kaka and Nana Owiti Call It Quits After 13 Years Together.

In a joint statement on social media, the former couple revealed that their decision to part ways came after careful reflection.

“We never imagined we would be writing a statement like this, but life happens. After much thought, we’ve made the difficult decision to end our relationship. Over the past 13 years, we’ve created countless memories, built a life together, and, most importantly, raised three amazing children who will always be our top priority.”

“This decision was not made lightly, and we are committed to maintaining a respectful and supportive relationship as we move forward separately. As public figures, we know our personal lives attract attention, but we kindly ask for privacy and understanding during this time as we navigate this change as a family. Our focus remains on co-parenting our children with love, stability, and respect. They are at the heart of everything we do, and their well-being and happiness will always come first. We are grateful for the love and support we’ve received throughout our journey and ask for your continued kindness as we take this next step.”

“This is a mutual decision made with respect, and we look forward to embracing the future as individuals while continuing to co-parent with the same dedication we’ve always had. Thank you for respecting our privacy.”

Rumors of a Split

Rumors about the couple’s separation first surfaced in May 2024, but they quickly denied the claims, affirming they were still together.

To show they were united, Nana attended the premiere of King Kaka’s movie Monkey Business. Some rumors suggested Nana had fabricated Kaka’s death certificate and taken their children to the UK.

“I don’t chase clout, especially when it comes to family, and neither does Nana. I wasn’t even going to address this, but since it involves family, I have to. I know people get excited about content creation, but we shouldn’t lie,” he said at the movie premiere.

He further clarified, “Now the whole country is running with a fake story—about a death certificate and kids being stolen and taken to America.”

Kaka also cleared up the false reports, stating that Nana was in the country and their children were attending school as usual.

“Nana is in the country, the kids are in school. I don’t know where these stories are coming from. Let’s be mindful. So many people are affected when we spread fake news. Let’s create content but not ruin something good,” he added.
