Kenyan rapper King Kaka has announced his separation from his long-time wife, Nana Owiti. The artist took to his social media page on Tuesday to share the news, emphasizing that the decision was not an easy one.
“We never imagined writing a statement like this, but life unfolds in unexpected ways. After careful reflection, we’ve made the difficult decision to part ways,” the statement read in part. King Kaka, who had been with Nana Owiti for over 13 years, noted that despite the split, they would always cherish the many memories they created together.
“Over these 13 years, we’ve shared countless experiences, built a life together, and, most importantly, raised three amazing children who will always be our top priority,” the statement continued.
Acknowledging their public status, King Kaka shared that while their personal lives attract attention, they are seeking privacy as they navigate this change. “This decision was made with careful consideration, and we are committed to maintaining a respectful and supportive relationship moving forward. As public figures, we understand the attention our lives may garner, but we ask for privacy and understanding as we navigate this transition as a family,” he said.
King Kaka emphasized that their focus would remain on co-parenting their children with love, stability, and respect. “Our children are at the center of everything we do, and their happiness and well-being will always come first. We are grateful for the love and support we’ve received throughout our journey together and ask for continued kindness as we move forward,” he shared.
He concluded by noting that the decision was mutual and made with respect. “This is a joint decision, made with mutual respect, and we look forward to embracing the future as individuals while continuing to co-parent with the same commitment we’ve always had. We thank you for respecting our privacy,” he said.
