Chameleone’s Health Battle: Son Reveals the Truth
Renowned Ugandan artist Jose Chameleone is reportedly battling acute pancreatitis, a condition linked to prolonged alcohol consumption, according to his eldest son, Abba Marcus.
The founder of Leone Island Music Empire was rushed to the hospital on December 12 after a sudden health scare, leaving fans and loved ones deeply concerned.
Son Speaks Out on Father’s Struggles
Taking to social media, Chameleone’s son with ex-wife Daniella Atim opened up about his father’s struggles, shedding light on his battle with alcohol addiction and its devastating effects.
In an emotional TikTok video, Marcus said:
“My father has been battling alcohol addiction for years, which explains the weight loss people have noticed. It’s heartbreaking to see my mother blamed for his struggles—it’s completely untrue. She has nothing to do with it.”
Marcus also expressed frustration with his paternal grandparents, accusing them of neglecting their children’s well-being.
“I’ve never seen such unconcerned parents. I’ve already lost two uncles due to their irresponsibility. Honestly, I don’t want to be associated with them. No one would even know the Mayanjas if it weren’t for my father,” he lamented.
He further criticized some of Chameleone’s friends, accusing them of prioritizing financial gain over his health.
A Dire Warning from Doctors
Doctors have reportedly issued a stark warning: if Chameleone does not curb his drinking, he may have only two years to live.
“We need to come together to help my father,” Marcus pleaded, expressing anger at his father’s choices and their impact on the family.
“I’m furious because his decisions feel selfish. He has five children who need him, yet he continues to drink despite being told to stop. It’s heartbreaking to see him knowingly damage his health.”
Understanding Acute Pancreatitis
Acute pancreatitis is a sudden inflammation of the pancreas, a vital organ for digestion and blood sugar regulation. It occurs when pancreatic enzymes activate within the organ instead of the small intestine, causing severe irritation and inflammation.
Symptoms include intense abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, fever, and a rapid heartbeat. If untreated, the condition can be life-threatening.
Calls for Prayers and Support
Amid reports of Chameleone’s critical condition, an admin from his official social media pages recently urged fans to pray for him.
“We deeply appreciate all the prayers and support for Jose Chameleone during this difficult time. He is hospitalized in critical condition, but we remain hopeful,” read part of a now-deleted post.
The admin also discouraged visits from individuals seeking to exploit the situation, emphasizing:
“This is not a show. We only welcome true friends and fans. Your prayers mean more than anything else. Get well soon, Joseph.”
The revelations have sparked widespread concern and calls for urgent intervention to support the beloved musician in his recovery.
