Veteran American actor, rapper, film producer, and screenwriter Will Smith, born Willard Carroll Smith II, has addressed the allegations linking him to the controversial music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs and his infamous “freak-off” parties, where several sex crimes are believed to have occurred.
The 56-year-old actor, a father of two, strongly denied any involvement in such activities, calling the rumors unfounded and malicious.
“I’ve been seeing y’all memes and stuff,” Smith began, addressing the speculations while performing onstage at The Observatory North Park in San Diego, California. “I see the memes. Some of that stuff is funny, some of it isn’t funny.”
Defending his reputation, Smith distanced himself from Diddy, despite their decade-long friendship, urging people to stop dragging him into the scandal. “I just wanna say this very clearly: I don’t have [anything] to do with Puffy, so y’all can stop all them memes. Y’all can stop all of that bulls–t. I ain’t been nowhere near no damn ‘Freak Off,'” he said.
Smith further emphasized, “I ain’t been nowhere near that man, ain’t did none of that stupid s–t. I don’t even like baby oil,” referencing the many bottles of baby oil found during a raid at Diddy’s mansion amid a sex trafficking investigation.
Wrapping up his remarks, Smith joked about his own life, saying he does “enough” of his “own s–t” and doesn’t need to be involved in “other people’s s–t.”
Despite his efforts to distance himself from Diddy, the two have maintained a strong friendship over the years. They’ve been seen together at various events, offering mutual support. A throwback photo from 2004 shows the two partying together in Miami, where Diddy was seen eating chocolate-covered strawberries off a naked woman.
In 2008, Smith personally invited Diddy and one of his sons to the premiere of his film “Hancock.”
Currently, Diddy is in custody in Brooklyn, New York, awaiting trial on charges of sexual abuse (involving both females and males, including minors), sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. If convicted, the rapper faces up to life in prison.
