In an interview with Mungai Eve, Sarah Kabu, a mother of two, candidly opened up about her personal life and future plans. She reflected on marriage, sharing:
“Do you know why mothers cry on the wedding day? It’s because they understand what you’re getting into but can’t warn you. It’s almost taboo to speak against marriage. Gen Z isn’t like us; we were taught to persevere.”
She also expressed contentment with her current stage in life, saying:
“I’m living my life. Many people live fake lives in their 20s, but I’m proud of where I am right now.”
On being a role model, Sarah was firm:
“I don’t want to be anyone’s role model—it’s too demanding. Let your parents be your role models. Forcing someone into a certain lifestyle just to fit your expectations isn’t fair. Let people be themselves.”
Discussing her business journey, Sarah highlighted its collaborative nature with her estranged partner:
“In 2007, we held our first event, and that’s when we met. We built the company together with sweat, tears, and sacrifices. It’s not just about who founded it but what we’ve achieved as a team.”
When asked about dating, Sarah revealed she’s not ready due to her pending divorce:
“Now that I’m single, I want to focus on traveling with my clients. We can’t just close the company—how would we survive? I want to visit places like Ibiza and Miami. I haven’t considered meeting someone new because I need time to heal.
I’m unsure about dating again, but I still want to get married. I was raised to be a wife, and I don’t know how to navigate life in the streets. For now, I’m healing. When reality hit, I realized I wanted to keep this private until I had my divorce certificate.”
