Kenya Airways Temporarily Suspends Flights to Comoros and Mayotte Due to Tropical Cyclone CHIDO
Kenya Airways (KQ) has announced the temporary suspension of flights to Comoros and Mayotte as Tropical Cyclone CHIDO approaches the region.
The airline stated that government authorities in both countries have issued warnings about the cyclone, which is expected to impact the islands until Monday, December 16, 2024.
“This decision has been made to prioritize the safety of our passengers and staff,” KQ said in a statement. “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. Safety remains our highest priority.”
The airline expressed concern for those in the cyclone-affected areas, stating, “Our prayers are with the residents of the impacted regions, and we hope for their safety and well-being during these challenging times.”
Kenya Airways plans to resume operations on December 16, 2024, provided weather conditions improve significantly. In the meantime, the airline encourages affected passengers to stay updated through its official channels.
