Kalonzo’s Daughter Weds as Uhuru Reflects on Ngina’s Marriage Journey
Kalonzo Musyoka’s daughter, Damarie Saada, exchanged vows with her fiancé, Martin Nyaga, in a vibrant wedding ceremony held in Naivasha, a popular wedding destination in Kenya. The event brought together prominent figures, including former President Uhuru Kenyatta, who shared a jovial moment seated beside Kalonzo, enjoying the celebration.
Kalonzo expressed gratitude for Uhuru’s presence, saying, “I thank President Uhuru Kenyatta for his friendship and solidarity with my family by attending the wedding ceremony of our daughter Damarie Saada and Martin Nyaga this afternoon in Naivasha.”
Uhuru’s Heartfelt Reflections
During his speech, Uhuru reminisced about his daughter’s wedding and offered advice to the newlyweds. In a light-hearted moment, captured in a TikTok video by MC Wakili, he described the challenges of letting go when his daughter, Ngina Kenyatta, got married.
“The most difficult thing was saying goodbye to my daughter,” he said, drawing laughter from the audience as he recounted how he tried to delay her wedding with various excuses, including citing the COVID-19 pandemic.
He also congratulated Martin for being a respectful groom, saying, “They thought they could just come and take what they want, but families matter.”
Assuring Kalonzo about the transition, Uhuru added, “Steve, I assure you, one of the most challenging things is saying goodbye to a daughter. I went through the same.”
Ngina Kenyatta’s Private Wedding
Ngina Kenyatta married Alex Mwai, the son of Karen Club General Manager Sam Mwai, in a highly discreet traditional ceremony (Gurario) in 2022. Details of the wedding surfaced online when Dennis Itumbi shared a congratulatory message on social media.
In his post, Itumbi wrote, “Ngina Kenyatta, congratulations on your traditional wedding. May God bless your journey, solidify your union, and grant you a wonderful family.”
Reports suggested that the private event barred guests from using phones to capture the intimate moments, adding to the mystery of the high-profile ceremony.
