Muthoni Mukiri: My Journey from TV Presenter to Life Coach

In 2020, Muthoni Mukiri made the decision to leave Inooro TV. Shortly after, she turned down job offers from other stations, choosing instead to take time for personal reflection. She is now a certified Life Coach and has shared her journey on social media, where many have asked about the challenges and ease of transitioning from TV presenter to Life Coach.

“I had a great job that I loved,” Muthoni explained. “But my coaching journey began 6-7 years ago when I went through a tough period. I wasn’t loving myself, and things weren’t working in my life—my relationships were toxic, and I felt unhappy and unfulfilled. I started focusing on myself and went to therapy. What I learned there, though, wasn’t readily available to others.”

She admitted to struggling with Imposter Syndrome, questioning her worthiness as a coach, but found strength and encouragement in her family.

“I wanted to help other women heal, so I began a YouTube channel to share my experiences. People began healing their trauma through my content. I went back to school to learn professionally. Imposter Syndrome is real,” she said.

Muthoni also shared that she gradually accepted her new journey, with her family’s support being key to her success. “I started my coaching sessions on Zoom. Believe in yourself and go for it,” she encouraged others.

Reflecting on her departure from TV, Muthoni mentioned that she made the decision an hour before her scheduled broadcast. “I was already dressed and doing my makeup,” she recalled. “I regret not being able to say goodbye to my audience. It wasn’t that I was fired; I left because I wanted to. I was ready to move on.”
