Kisumu: Dispute Over Ksh.200 Turns Deadly, Leaving One Man Dead and Another Hospitalized.

A 25-year-old man lost his life last evening after a dispute over Ksh 200 at the Garissa Lodge market in Kisumu Central Sub-County. The disagreement reportedly arose after the two men sold a pair of safari boots and were to split the earnings.

Kisumu Central Sub-County Police Commander, Peter Mulai, stated that the suspect, identified as Nicholas Otieno, struck the deceased on the left side of his jaw, causing him to fall backward and sustain a severe head injury. The injured man was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival due to critical head trauma.

Following news of the man’s death, outraged members of the public attacked Otieno, beating him severely before police intervened. Otieno is currently under police guard at Kisumu County Hospital and is expected to face murder charges once he is discharged.
