Jasper Murume confirms he was in a relationship with the late Tabitha Gatwiri.

Jasper Murume confirmed his past relationship with the late Tabitha Gatwiri during her memorial service held at Blue Springs Hotel in Thika on Monday, November 11, 2024.

While eulogizing the late creative, Jasper shared that her passing still feels like a nightmare he wishes he could wake up from. He explained, “I feel as if… have you ever woken up from a bad dream and immediately tried to rebuke it because you don’t want it to be true… because Gatwiri has decided to leave us.”

Jasper emotionally recalled the many plans they had made together. He revealed that he met Tabitha in 2018, and they dated for some time before parting ways amicably. Although they had worked together, often featuring in funny skits as a couple, Jasper clarified that by the time of her passing, they had long since separated and were only business partners, contrary to public belief.

He explained, “She was my girlfriend, but I’m now married with a child. After we broke up, things were never the same, but we continued to work together as professionals. We maintained a strictly professional relationship with clear boundaries that ex-partners should respect. There was a love-hate dynamic, but we were great colleagues.”

Jasper concluded by expressing his deepest condolences to her family, sharing how disoriented he felt since hearing the news of her sudden death.
