Huddah: The Reason I Stopped Smoking Marijuana

Huddah Monroe has revealed that maintaining mental clarity is a key priority for her. In an Instagram post, the socialite shared that she made the decision to quit smoking marijuana, and as a result, has experienced improved mental clarity.

Additionally, Huddah mentioned that she has cut back on alcohol, stating that she now drinks very rarely.

“I chose to stop smoking marijuana, and now I barely drink. Trust me, a clear mind is everything,” Huddah wrote on Instagram.

Scientific studies show that marijuana can impact mental clarity, particularly with frequent or heavy use. The active component in marijuana, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), affects the brain’s cannabinoid receptors, influencing various cognitive functions. Short-term effects include impaired memory, concentration, and altered perception. Long-term use can lead to cognitive decline and mental health issues.

Earlier this year, Huddah also expressed her concerns about alcohol addiction, which she believes is a major issue in Kenya and across Africa. She shared that alcohol made her feel angry, stubborn, and resentful. While she once thought marijuana was a better alternative to alcohol, she has since quit smoking it as well.

“These days, I drink only for celebrations, not to get drunk and cause problems… When I drink, I turn into someone else—angry, resentful, and argumentative. Everything irritates me when I’m drunk,” she shared on Instagram in June.

Huddah has sparked controversy in the past with her bold opinions, such as claiming that “Kenyan men are stingy” and stating that “Nairobi is too small for her,” implying she prefers to date internationally.
