Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has been appointed the new Deputy Party Leader of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). The UDA National Executive Committee (NEC) made the decision during a meeting on Monday morning, replacing former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who previously held the position.
In a statement, UDA Chairperson Cecily Mbarire and Secretary General Hassan Omar explained that the decision followed the successful impeachment of Gachagua last month, which left him unable to continue fulfilling his duties as deputy party leader. They expressed confidence in Kindiki’s leadership, praising his exceptional skills and potential to propel the party forward.
In his remarks, Kindiki expressed his readiness to serve with loyalty and commitment, emphasizing that the party would collaborate with other institutions to address issues affecting not only UDA but the nation as a whole. He also highlighted that he assumes the role of Deputy Party Leader at a critical juncture in the country’s history, reaffirming UDA’s commitment to unity for all Kenyans, regardless of their backgrounds.
