Why Baba and Mama Jimmy never vote in US Presidential elections

Baba and Mama Jimmy decided to abstain from voting in the 2024 U.S. Presidential elections. The couple, who recently moved to the U.S., admitted that they have never been interested in the electoral process, even when they lived in Kenya.

In a video on his YouTube channel, the father of two explained their position on voting.

“So today, I want to talk about voting and who I will vote for. Mama Jimmy, who will you vote for?” he asked his wife.

She responded by saying that she has no interest in exercising her democratic right.

“I don’t know. I’m not voting because whoever God chooses for us, He will give us. Politics? No!” she said.

Baba Jimmy agreed with her stance.

“As for me, many people are asking who I will vote for,” he said. “But let me be honest, even when I was in Kenya, I never voted. I have never voted, and I will never vote.”

The preacher explained why he chooses not to participate in elections.

“I don’t think I will ever vote because the Bible teaches us that God is the one who installs leaders. He is the one who chooses them for us. So, as Christians, our job is to pray for our leaders. We shouldn’t vote because, in my opinion, if God chooses our leaders, voting contradicts the Bible, which says it’s God’s responsibility to choose them for us.”

His reasoning continued with an analogy from Kenya.

“For example, in Kenya, there are always claims that elections were stolen, and I don’t follow such matters. In the U.S., it’s similar, with people saying Trump’s victory was stolen. That’s why I won’t vote. Those who voted for Trump in 2020 and he didn’t win, it means it wasn’t God’s plan for him to be President. Those in authority are appointed by God. If you voted for Trump, you went against God’s will.”

He concluded by emphasizing his prayer for the person chosen to lead, hoping they will do what’s best for the citizens.
