President William Ruto has instructed homicide detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to promptly investigate the recent spate of deaths involving women and girls across the country.
During the swearing-in ceremony of Deputy President Kithure Kindiki at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) on Friday, President Ruto directed DCI officers to collaborate closely with other security agencies to carry out a thorough investigation.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to combating femicide, the Head of State emphasized a strong response against those responsible for such crimes. “In recent days, we have witnessed tragic cases where our daughters, mothers, and women have been brutally killed. I want to make it clear that the DCI and all investigative bodies in Kenya must take a stand against these criminals,” Ruto stated.
