Lawyer Morara Kebaso is renowned for his sharp and satirical mimicry of President Ruto, using humor to spotlight political issues and government inefficiencies. His performances not only entertain but also spark important conversations about leadership and accountability, establishing him as a prominent figure in political satire.
Recently, Kebaso has taken a daring step by auditing several unfinished government projects, mocking the government’s tendency to abandon such initiatives. His critiques shine a light on the inefficiencies plaguing public projects.
For instance, despite the President’s promise to complete the Kamariny Stadium within six months, Kebaso’s video revealed that the site was still just an ordinary football pitch. In his imitation, he humorously ended with, “In six months’ time, the historic Kamariny Stadium will be complete,” followed by laughter.
Kebaso also examined the Mago-Mululu-Lusui-Vokoli road in Vihiga County, which was promised to be upgraded to bitumen standard by August 29, 2023. A year later, he questioned the road’s condition, highlighting the government’s pattern of launching projects that often do not materialize.
In another instance, he visited the Kabonya Kanyal fisheries and aquaculture project in Kisumu County, where a 2.5 billion shilling investment was supposed to develop the area. Instead, he humorously invited viewers through a flimsy gate to an empty land.
Kebaso’s videos have sparked mixed reactions online, with some praising his bravery and others viewing his approach as risky.
