Police in Alego/Usonga, Siaya County, are investigating the mysterious death of a 42-year-old man whose body was found on Sunday afternoon beside a road in Ulore village, South East Alego location.
Villagers discovered the man’s unresponsive body and immediately raised the alarm.
Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo reported that the incident was first reported to the Kogelo police station by the area village elder, George Yewa, who informed the authorities of the lifeless body found along the road in his village. An officer from Kogelo police station responded to the scene and confirmed the discovery.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased, a resident of nearby Kosema village, had left home on Saturday and did not return. According to the deceased’s wife, he had left their home around 10:00 a.m. to visit a barber at Dondi trading centre.
Mr. Kimaiyo noted that the body showed no visible injuries and was transported to Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination as investigations continue to determine the cause of death.
