Uasin Gishu Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii has announced that he will promptly nominate a new deputy governor following the resignation of John Barorot. The governor stated that he will submit the nominee’s name to the county assembly for vetting by the MCAs.
“It will happen very soon. I will nominate someone from the local area,” Bii said.
He emphasized that the new appointee will be someone capable of performing well, similar to the former Deputy Governor Barorot.
Sources indicate that former Moiben MP Sila Tiren is a leading candidate for the position. Other potential nominees include former MCA Pius Kigen, Engineer Anthony Chelimo, and Martha Cheruto, the current trade executive in Uasin Gishu.
Governor Bii is also expected to announce a reshuffle of his team at a briefing scheduled to take place later in the day.
