Introducing Marongo, the 8-feet giant making waves across Kenya.

A man named Marongo, who stands an impressive 8 feet tall, has captured the attention of Kenyans online due to his remarkable height.

At 27 years old, Marongo proudly refers to himself as the tallest Gen Z in Kenya, as he mentioned in an interview with Kenya Online Media on YouTube.

Despite the challenges that come with his extraordinary height—like being a noticeable figure during anti-government protests where even the police approach him with amazement—Marongo has become a well-known personality.

Nicknamed “Goliath Gen Z,” Marongo is a familiar face in Kangemi, where he often spends his time and hustles, after previously residing in Kayole.

Weighing 135 kilograms, Marongo has a popular TikTok account with 15,000 followers who are captivated by his height and large feet. His social media bio proudly states “BRADLEY Tallest in 254.”

However, Marongo doesn’t always appreciate the attention his height brings, especially when it comes with mockery. “Children stare at me in awe, and some even take pictures, but I often take their phones and delete the photos because some people speak badly about me,” he shared, referring to the negative comments as “anaongea matope” (talking nonsense).

It’s reported that Marongo wears a shoe size 47/48. Fans are intrigued by his lifestyle, with many wondering how his barber manages to give him a fade haircut.

His bed is custom-made, yet it still doesn’t allow him to fully stretch out. He prefers wearing loose-fitting shirts and shorts since finding trousers in his size is difficult.

When it comes to shoes, Marongo usually finds them in second-hand markets, though the attention he gets while shopping can be uncomfortable.

Online, people are both fascinated and curious about Marongo. Here are a few of their comments:

  • DÄRK_ANDY: “What surprises me is how this guy gets a fade haircut… I wonder how the barber manages it.”
  • John Wanyonyi: “You should take up volleyball, man, that height is a gift.”
  • neemakamar: “I want to buy him a pair of shoes.”
  • margaretkava45: “Start a YouTube channel; people will support you, our baby boy.”
  • @chemi mwenyewe: “I bet ugali runs for its life when it sees you.”
  • Muindi Mweusi: “He could make a great security guard. Citizen TV, you should hire him.”
  • ochieng ke: “🤣🤣🤣 If there were limits to height or weight at birth, how would this guy’s father even compare?”
