Kenyan rapper Stevo Simple Boy has announced that he will only collaborate with Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz if he is paid Sh20 million. He emphasized that without this payment, the collaboration won’t happen. Stevo revealed that Diamond reached out to him via Instagram about a potential partnership.
“Diamond, you contacted me on Instagram expressing interest in a collab, but unless you come up with Sh20 million, there’s no agreement—Self-declared King of Africa, Stevo Simple Boy.”
Diamond has previously collaborated with renowned artists like Koffi Olomidé, Ne-Yo, and Jason Derulo. He reportedly spent Sh10 million on the ‘Marry You’ collaboration with Ne-Yo and Sh5.6 million on the ‘Waka’ track featuring Rick Ross.
The remix of “Komasava,” which includes Jason Derulo, cost at least Sh24 million to produce. This trending song was filmed in multiple locations, including Dubai and Paris.
Diamond’s longtime manager, SK Sallam, disclosed that the total budget exceeded Tsh500 million (Sh24 million) when factoring in all expenses such as logistics, location fees, production costs, and accommodation.
“The video was shot in various locations by three different directors, featuring scenes in Dubai’s desert, Paris, and additional segments with both Diamond and Jason in Dubai,” SK Sallam explained.
