Amid its ongoing invasion of Ukraine, Russia is showcasing its latest weaponry at the Army Forum 2024, a major military exhibition outside Moscow. The defense ministry has announced the signing of government contracts valued at over $55 million during the event.
These contracts include the procurement of modernized flamethrower systems, tanks, helicopters, guided missiles, and anti-sabotage boats. The ministry also stated that the Russian military would be receiving more than 500 different types of weapons and over 1 million units of ammunition.
“Our enterprise is focused on developing weapons that surpass imported equivalents, giving us a battlefield advantage,” said Vitaly Bulgakov, deputy managing director of a Russian military company.
According to the Russian news agency TASS, approximately 110 official military delegations and foreign companies are participating in the forum.
This exhibition occurs as Ukrainian forces report deeper advances into Russian territory, following a significant breach of the border in the Kursk region just over a week ago.
