President William Ruto held a fireside chat on Tuesday with a group of leaders at the Kisii State Lodge. The discussion provided a platform for Kisii leaders to engage with the President on the region’s development issues.
President Ruto is currently on a three-day development tour in the region, which will conclude on Thursday. During his visit, he oversaw the groundbreaking ceremony for a long-awaited cancer treatment center on the outskirts of Kisii. The Sh3 billion project had been stalled for years due to delays in finalizing agreements between the government and the lender.
In addition, President Ruto flagged off the construction of a crucial interchange at Daraja Mbili in Kisii town. This interchange, once completed, is expected to significantly enhance infrastructure in the region.
Kitutu Chache South MP Anthony Kibagendi highlighted that the interchange is part of the final stages in the construction of the multi-billion Kisii-Ahero-Kisumu road and the Kisii-Rongo-Migori Highway.
