A 19-year-old was discovered deceased under mysterious circumstances in Muranga.

Police are investigating a murder case involving a 19-year-old man found with multiple injuries on a bed in Kandara, Muranga County. The body of Lewis Mwaura Muiruri was discovered early Tuesday morning in Hui Village, Gakarara Sub Location, with a large stone placed on his head. The deceased was found by a relative in his uncle’s house while the uncle was working in Murang’a Town.

Authorities are trying to determine if the bed was the primary crime scene and the motive behind the murder remains unclear. The body has been sent to General Kago Mortuary for a postmortem examination. No arrests have been made yet, but detectives are actively investigating.

In another case, a man’s body was found floating in a dam in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, following a suspected murder. The body was discovered by a guard at the Two Rivers Dam in Islamic Village, Kapsoya Sub-Location, who saw it while on patrol. The Uasin Gishu Fire Department retrieved the body, which showed no visible injuries. It has been moved to the mortuary for an autopsy and further investigation.

In Shibale, Mumias, Kakamega County, a woman named Sophy Obulialia, 39, was electrocuted while hanging clothes on a line. The incident occurred when a naked wire came into contact with the clothesline. She was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital but died during treatment. Her body has been transferred to the hospital’s morgue for a postmortem. Kenya Power officials have been asked to inspect the area’s cables as part of a safety review, particularly in informal settlements where illegal power connections are common. Efforts are underway to address this issue.
