Legendary Kenyan artist Nameless recently shared how the lack of social media during his university years helped him cope with his insecurities. At that time, he was in a relationship with Wahu, his now-wife and the mother of their three children, and he felt a bit insecure about her remarkable beauty.
He revealed that a photo of Wahu inspired his song “Sinzia,” which features the lyrics, “I wish I was the slit of your dress; my goal in life would be to aim for the highest.”
Posting a throwback picture of Wahu in a black skirt with a thigh-high slit, Nameless wrote, “This photo used to give me all the feels back in campus… I would look at it with a smile before going to sleep. I couldn’t believe she was mine. Thank God there was no Instagram back then; I would have been insanely insecure… ‘I wish I was the slit on your dress…’”
When Jeddy Githaiga asked if the photo inspired his song “Sinzia,” Nameless confirmed, “Yes! That slit used to drive me crazy.”
The photo has drawn amusing reactions from fans:
- Waziri Waziri: “When Wahu Kagwi was my dream LOML. I don’t know where Nameless came in.”
- Jonathan Njagi: “You did well marrying a beautiful woman you loved and admired. You can’t lose interest in someone you truly admire and love.”
