Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has reiterated his lack of confidence in President William Ruto’s Cabinet Secretary nominees.
In a statement posted on X on Friday, Kalonzo expressed his dissatisfaction with Ruto’s selections, stating, “We have no faith in KK Cabinet Secretaries nominees.”
This comment follows his recent call for Wiper MPs to reject the ODM members proposed for CS positions. On Sunday, Kalonzo urged Wiper MPs to oppose the appointment of four ODM nominees—Opiyo Wandayi (Energy), Wycliffe Oparanya (Cooperatives), John Mbadi (National Treasury), and Hassan Joho (Mining)—when the Committee on Appointments presents its report in the House.
The Committee on Appointments, led by Speaker Moses Wetangula, has been reviewing the nominees. Kithure Kindiki, nominated for Interior CS, was the first to be vetted on Thursday, followed by Debra Mlongo (Health), Alice Wahome (Lands), Julius Migos Ogamba (Education), and Roselinda Soipan Tuya (Defence).
Friday’s vetting included Andrew Mwihia (Agriculture), Aden Duale (Environment), Eric Muuga (Water), Davis Chirchir (Transport), and Margaret Ndung’u (ICT).
On Saturday, the committee will hear from Mbadi, Wandayi, Salim Mvurya (Trade), Rebecca Miano (Tourism), and Kipchumba Murkomen (Sports).
The final day will feature Oparanya, Joho, Alfred Mutua (Labour), Justin Muturi (Public Service), and Stella Lang’at (Gender) undergoing scrutiny.
