Cabinet Vetting: Duale Declares Ksh.980M Net Worth, Up from Ksh.851M in 2022.

Environment Cabinet Secretary nominee Aden Duale declared his net worth to be Ksh.980 million on Friday when he appeared before the National Assembly’s Committee on Appointments for vetting, pending Parliamentary approval.

This represents a Ksh.129 million increase from the Ksh.851 million Duale declared in September 2022 when he was vetted for the Defence minister position.

Duale informed the committee that his assets include parcels of land, a cattle ranch, and rental properties. “I have pieces of land in Garissa and Nairobi and houses in the two counties. I own a cattle ranch in Garissa and rental properties in Garissa and Nairobi. I also own shares in my family-owned businesses and have camels, cattle, and motor vehicles,” he said.

“Lastly, I earned significant revenue from the sale of my autobiography, which is currently the number one best-selling book.”

He further attributed the growth to the appreciation of his investments and rental properties.

“There are both investment and real estate properties whose appreciation increases by 12-15 percent. If you calculate my current net worth with that rate of appreciation, it amounts to Ksh.980 million,” he explained.

“My livestock have also grown in number due to the recent rains.”
