State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed was compelled to apologize after posting a misleading tweet from his official X (Twitter) account.
On Wednesday, Mohamed tweeted that Samson Nyamweya earns Ksh 150,000 as an online writer through the Jitume program.
“Samson Nyamweya earns Ksh 150,000 per month through online writing after enrolling with the Jitume program, an initiative that provides youth access to digital services, skills, and online job opportunities. He shares his experience with President @WilliamsRuto,” the tweet stated.
However, many Kenyans on X (KOX) quickly flagged the tweet as misleading because Samson Nyamweya had previously stated in the audio used by Hussein that he actually earns at least Ksh 20,000 per month, not Ksh 150,000 as reported.
This prompted Hussein to issue an apology, clarifying that he meant $150, not Ksh 150,000.
“Woi! My apologies, folks, I meant $150 per month. Chill out and don’t make a mountain out of a molehill. But at least we all agree that President @WilliamsRuto’s interventions are creating incomes for Nyamweya and many more! Have a chill evening!” Hussein Mohamed explained in his apology.
