Elsa Majimbo recently shared her worst fear on TikTok: the fear of being broke again. The comedian and content creator told her followers that the mere thought of financial hardship gives her nightmares.
“I have nightmares about it. I’ve gotten used to a lifestyle that requires money. If I couldn’t afford brunch, shopping, first class, or living in Beverly Hills anymore, I don’t know what I’d do,” she revealed in a TikTok video.
She also mentioned that she couldn’t imagine what she would say to her online followers, many of whom have advised her to be humble, but she refused.
“God forbid, I can’t.”
Majimbo added that she can’t even recall what life was like when she was broke and doesn’t want to remember. She declared, “And it will never happen again in Jesus’ name. I rebuke the spirit of brokenness.”
In April, Majimbo shared that her accounts had been frozen and she was being investigated for fraud in the US. She explained that this happened because she decided to go on a shopping spree.
“A friend of mine was going through a tough time and she went to Milan and shopped her pain away, so I thought I’d do the same. I was going to shop away every wrong that had ever happened in my life,” she said on TikTok.
She recounted her shopping spree: “I went to Versace, Zara, Gucci, Victoria’s Secret—you name it. I wasn’t joking. I got an alert from my bank asking if it was me, and I confirmed it was. But after another alert and confirmation, my card stopped working. I called the bank, and they unlocked my card, but it happened again.”
Majimbo was informed that the activity on her account required documentation to verify her identity and ensure she wasn’t involved in fraudulent activity.
“Fraudulent activity? I am just rich, are you joking?” she exclaimed.
Even her other cards were declined for the same reason. Majimbo said she was under financial review, concluding, “I’m just so rich people literally can’t believe it and they need to confirm it’s real.”
