Kathy Kiuna has been appointed as a bishop following the passing of her husband.

Kathy Kiuna of Jubilee Christian Church has been officially appointed as a Bishop. The announcement was made by Reverend Funke Felix-Adejumo during a Sunday service over the weekend.

Reverend Adejumo began by expressing gratitude for those who ordained Kathy Kiuna, stating:

“We thank God for the people who have ordained you.”

She continued:

“From today, you are elevated to the position of Bishop. The formal consecration will take place later to make it official, but from now on, you may be referred to as ‘my bishop.'”

Reverend Adejumo also highlighted Kathy Kiuna’s anointing and her boldness in her role:

“From now on, we add to her name; she is no longer Kathy Kiuna, but Kathy Allan Kiuna.”

This appointment follows the recent passing of her husband, Allan Kiuna, who died on July 9th at Nairobi Hospital after a battle with cancer.

In her tribute to her late husband, Kathy described him as a role model and a loving partner:

“Honey, I’m struggling to find the right words to describe who you were to me. It feels like a dream, and I wish I could wake up and find it wasn’t real. Yet, you are with Jesus now.

I have spent more time with you than alone, and I’m unsure how to continue without you. I pray the Holy Spirit guides me through this. I miss everything about you—our private jokes, our laughter, our love. You showed the world that African men can express love like Christ, breaking the stereotype that African men don’t know how to show affection.

You became a role model for many, and your legacy is beyond your years. Your speed and diligence were evident from a young age, and your family now reaps the rewards of your hard work. Despite the immense responsibility you carried, you did so effortlessly. I will always love you. May God grant you an even greater crown for the life you lived. Until we meet again.”
