Gospel singer Bonny Mwaitege is not dead

Tanzanian gospel singer Bonny Mwaitege is not deceased. Rumors about his involvement in a severe car accident have been debunked by his wife. She confirmed to Millard Ayo that Mwaitege is healthy, having recently returned from Kenya and now resting at home.

Stephen Kasolo, a Kamba singer, also refuted the death rumors, stating that someone is spreading false information to tarnish Mwaitege’s reputation. He urged people to stop circulating the rumors and to pray for both Mwaitege and other musicians.

Additionally, Tanzanian gospel artist Christopher Mwahangila labeled the rumors as fake news. Some social media reports had falsely claimed that Mwaitege was in a car accident after leaving a gospel concert.

Known for songs like “Sisi Sote,” “Mama Ni Mama,” “Maisha Ni Foleni,” and “Utanitambuaje,” Mwaitege began his career as a background vocalist and dancer before establishing himself as a solo artist.
