Pastor James Ng’ang’a, known for his outspoken stance on politics and social issues, rarely delves into his personal life. However, in a recent interview with Jeremy Damaris on Kenya Diaspora TV, he opened up about his past involvement in crime, his spiritual journey, and his family.
Ng’ang’a candidly shared the emotional struggles he and his wife faced during their attempts to conceive, recounting numerous disappointments along the way. The interview, conducted in Namanga at Jerusalem City, also touched on a pivotal moment during a sermon in Nyahururu where Ng’ang’a unexpectedly began speaking in tongues, influenced by a fellow preacher.
Reflecting on his early experiences, Ng’ang’a recalled praying for people, including a white person, despite not fully comprehending the extent of his spiritual gifts at the time. He humorously recounted how people would fall down when he touched them, a phenomenon he initially found surprising given his lack of exposure to similar displays by renowned preachers like Benny Hinn.
Ng’ang’a’s preaching companion recognized his anointing and encouraged him to lay hands on people with the words, “I release,” resulting in powerful spiritual manifestations where everyone touched fell down.
However, Ng’ang’a also shared a chilling encounter with the devil, who threatened him against continuing his ministry, warning of imprisonment under the Moi government. Initially shaken, Ng’ang’a considered fleeing but was persuaded by another individual to persist. When those he had prayed for eventually rose unharmed, Ng’ang’a felt a profound sense of relief, deciding to conclude the meeting.
The interview provided a rare glimpse into the personal and spiritual journey of Pastor James Ng’ang’a, highlighting both the challenges and profound moments that have shaped his life and ministry.
