Prime Cabinet Musalia Mudavadi emphasized the government’s commitment to aligning strategies aimed at empowering youth graduates with the current job market demands. He highlighted the goal of producing highly skilled graduates who are not only employable but also capable of driving innovation and economic growth through self-employment. Mudavadi underscored the pivotal role of youth in nation-building, stressing their importance in the societal fabric.
“As we address our country’s challenges collectively, I urge the youth to engage constructively on governance and economic issues, recognizing the disciplined, hardworking, and focused youth population of Kenya,” Mudavadi appealed.
He acknowledged the global reputation of Kenyan youth and urged them to reflect on their grievances without undermining their significant achievements internationally. Mudavadi emphasized the importance of humility, discipline, integrity, and adherence to the rule of law as guiding principles for youth actions.
“Youth empowerment should not be misconstrued; instead, it should showcase our potential to transform the industrial sector and attract investors,” Mudavadi stated.
He called for introspection among the youth, urging them to engage soberly and recognize that leadership is attentive and working towards solutions. Mudavadi acknowledged past mistakes while emphasizing the country’s resilience and the need for peace and stability as foundations for prosperity.
Highlighting the government’s efforts, Mudavadi assured the youth of opportunities in the foreign labor market through bilateral agreements, particularly with the European Union and Gulf countries. He emphasized the importance of legal frameworks to support Kenyan youth seeking opportunities abroad.
Mudavadi concluded by encouraging patience and tolerance among Kenyan youth, noting that their talent is crucial for the country’s economic recovery and future job creation. He spoke during the launch of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET-CDACC) strategic plan 2023-2027, emphasizing its role in producing skilled graduates aligned with market demands.
