Kenyan representatives in the upcoming Caf Confederation Cup, Kenya Police, are arming themselves for the continental campaign next month. The National Police Service team, fresh from winning the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup last season and achieving a commendable third-place finish in the Kenyan Premier League, is gearing up under the confident leadership of coach Salim Babu.
Speaking recently, Babu expressed optimism about Police’s debut on the big stage, aiming for success beyond the preliminary rounds. The team, known for its talented roster, has intensified preparations at the Police Sacco stadium following a brief break, bolstering their squad with new signings to enhance their chances in the Caf competition.
“We’ve strengthened our squad with fresh talent because the Caf tournament demands a deep pool of players for tactical flexibility,” Babu noted. “We’re addressing key areas and actively scouting the market.”
Among their new recruits are Samuel Njau, Jackson Macharia, and Brian Babu from Posta Rangers, as well as Eric Zakayo from Tusker FC and Jaffar Owiti from AFC Leopards. These acquisitions reflect Police’s ambitious bid for continental glory.
In other league developments, Ulinzi Stars have appointed Danstun Nyaudo as their new head coach, signaling a new chapter for the three-time KPL champions.
