EACC has arrested a cleaner allegedly involved in seven companies that fraudulently received Ksh.257 million for fictitious supplies.

A cleaner employed at the State Department for Correctional Services is among 13 individuals currently under investigation by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) for their alleged involvement in the misappropriation of Ksh. 450 million. Sources within the anti-graft commission have indicated that five senior officials from the Ministry of Interior have already been apprehended in connection with the ongoing investigation into the corruption scandal.

The EACC has identified the cleaner as Eric Kipkurui Mutai, who purportedly owns seven companies that received Ksh. 250 million despite allegedly failing to deliver any goods or services to the prison facilities as claimed.

Other suspects implicated in the case include the Deputy Commissioner General of Prisons and several other high-ranking officials.
