Kylian Mbappe was officially presented as a new player for Real Madrid in front of approximately 70,000 fans at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday. The 25-year-old French international has signed a five-year contract with the Spanish giants, following medical tests earlier in the day. Afterward, Mbappe traveled to Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training complex to finalize his contract in the presence of club president Florentino Perez.
The Bernabeu was packed for the unveiling of a player pursued by Real Madrid for several years, with Zinedine Zidane, a former Madrid player and coach, also in attendance. Mbappe expressed gratitude to President Florentino and everyone involved in making his move possible, describing the day as incredible and fulfilling a childhood dream.
“I hope to live up to the club’s standards… I will give my all for this club and its crest,” said Mbappe to the enthusiastic crowd, including a message to young fans: “If you have passion, you can achieve your dreams. One day, it could be you up here.”
Mbappe is set to debut competitively when Real Madrid start their La Liga season away to Mallorca on August 18, with his first home game scheduled against Valladolid a week later.
