- Social media and political activist Gabriel Oguda was abducted on June 25th, hours before the Finance Bill demonstrations. His last message indicated police presence at his gate. Despite going offline, his account continued posting scheduled tweets. Netizens’ outcry led to his release.
- Osama Otero:
- Osama Otero also tweeted about strangers at his home on the same day Oguda was abducted. He was taken and later released after his tweet went viral.
- Crazy Nairobian (Billy Simani):
- Billy Simani, alias Crazy Nairobian, was abducted following his participation in anti-Finance Bill protests on June 20th. He described his abduction by five individuals, including a woman, who came to his door.
- Kasamuel McOure:
- Activist Kasamuel McOure went missing during anti-government protests due to his vocal opposition to punitive taxes. He was eventually released following public demand.
- Joshua Okayo:
- KSL student Joshua Okayo was abducted for at least 72 hours by unknown individuals. He was taken while approaching people he thought were students. Prior to the abduction, he received several calls warning him to hide.
- Alfred Keter:
- Former Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter was dramatically arrested on June 30th in Kileleshwa, Nairobi, and released hours later. He faced allegations of arms trafficking and fraud, which he denies.
- Shad Kiprono (Shad Khalif):
- Activist Shadrack Kiprono, known as Shad Khalif, was abducted on June 24, 2024, in South B. CCTV footage showed him being taken by men who placed him in a chokehold and bundled him into a vehicle.
