Bishop Allan Kiuna of Jubilee Christian Church will be laid to rest today, Wednesday, in Thindigua, Kiambu County. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and other dignitaries are expected to attend the send-off ceremony at JCC Paradise, Thindigua.
A memorial service was held on Monday at Faith Evangelistic Ministry Family Church in Karen.
Kiuna passed away on July 9 at a Nairobi hospital after a long battle with Multiple Myeloma. His wife, Reverend Kathy Kiuna, described him as a symbol of strength who faced cancer with hope.
Diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2018-19, Kiuna openly shared his journey. He underwent a bone marrow transplant and was declared healthy by doctors. However, he began feeling unwell again in 2021 but was later declared cancer-free. In May this year, he started feeling unwell once more.
During her tribute at the memorial service, Kathy revealed that Kiuna had a premonition of his death, expressing a desire to go home, which he repeated even while at home.
Kathy described Kiuna as her best friend, someone she had been with for most of her life, saying, “I have known him more than I have been alone; I’ve been with him more than I have been by myself. I don’t know how to do life without this man.”
