An Assistant Chief has been arrested for allegedly defiling a four-year-old girl in Londiani, Kericho County. According to a police report, 42-year-old Douglas Koech Kipkemoi, who serves as the Assistant Chief for Kabianga Sub-location, is accused of assaulting the minor on Wednesday, July 10, near his home.

The report states that on July 11, 2024, at about 5:00 PM, the child complained of pain in her genital area while urinating, prompting her mother to inquire about what had happened. The child then revealed that she had been defiled by Douglas Koech Kipkemoi the previous day around 7:00 PM near his home.

Fearing for his safety due to public agitation, the assistant chief surrendered to the police. Both the victim and the suspect were taken to Londiani Sub-county Hospital for medical examination and necessary action.

The suspect is set to be arraigned at the Molo Law Courts.
