MP Farah Defends Viral Video After Ken Mijungu Bans Him from Show

On Tuesday, July 9, KTN journalist Ken Mijungu announced the ban of Daadab Member of Parliament Farah Maalim from his show. This decision follows the circulation of a video in which Maalim allegedly advised President William Ruto to suppress Gen Z protestors.

The translated clip shows Maalim stating that if he were the Kenyan President, he would not have allowed Gen Z to protest against the Finance Bill. The video has been widely interpreted as incitement, suggesting that President Ruto should take a hardline stance on the ongoing protests.

Expressing his disapproval, Mijungu said, “A lawmaker said this! A seasoned legislator. As a patriotic Kenyan, I will never host him on my show again! Never.” He further added, “It is Somalis who would basically do that, for other reasons, because I also weighed in on the politics of Somalia.”

Mijungu’s comments highlight his stance against hosting individuals who, in his view, incite extremist actions, reinforcing his commitment to responsible journalism and national unity.
