Nanny Rosie has finally disclosed her reasons for deciding Not to return to Lebanon

Last year, a video of a nanny bidding farewell to her Lebanese employers went viral in Kenya, captivating the nation. The nanny, now known as Nanny Rosie, has since gained a significant following on social media.

Recently, Rosie appeared on Oga Obinna’s YouTube show to explain why she chose not to return to Lebanon, despite earlier speculations.

Rosie disclosed that she had been contemplating leaving her job even before informing her employers. “I only worked there for six months. I returned home in June. Even before going back, I knew I wouldn’t complete the full two years. But I hadn’t told my employers because I knew it would break their hearts,” she revealed.

Her return to Lebanon was not without challenges. The strong bond she formed with her employers’ children caused her own children in Kenya to feel abandoned and envious. “My daughter will be 14 this year. At this age, a child needs their parent. She would call me in tears, saying she wanted to come home. My boys also felt neglected. Knowing my kids felt abandoned made it hard for me to focus on my job,” Rosie shared.

Rosie faced a difficult choice between being there for her children and staying for the financial stability. “They felt like I belonged to another family. The emotional connection was fading. I was not at peace. Seeing my children cry all the time made me cry too. I had to decide between the money and my children,” she lamented.

Ultimately, Rosie decided to return home. When she broke the news to her employers, they were concerned they had done something wrong. “No, they didn’t do anything wrong. Even though I was a single parent and needed the money desperately, making that decision was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I wanted to be there for my children as they entered their teenage years and navigated life,” she concluded.
