Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja stated that one of the individuals seen burning City Hall is employed in a Member of Parliament’s office.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Sakaja called for the MP and their aide to be identified so that legal action can be taken.
“Let the politician and MP who sent them be known,” he stated.
Sakaja also refuted allegations that he facilitated the involvement of goons in the Gen Z demonstrations on Tuesday. He explained that he was at the Coast with his cabinet at the time and could not have orchestrated such activities.
He emphasized his commitment to clean politics (Siasa safi) and insisted he would not be involved in such actions, suggesting that political opponents were spreading these claims.
Sakaja mentioned that he received a request to make Uhuru Park available for Gen Z to honor their fallen colleagues, which he agreed to. He also said he would attend the event when it takes place.
